Cocobolo Rosewood and Lignum Vitae Bowl Blanks for Woodworkers

Bowl blanks of rare fine woods for woodworkers

These are rare and beautiful woods that have been drying for years in our drying room.  We have started the process – we leave it up to you woodworkers and woodturners to finish them.  Each roughed out bowl blank has a two or more inch thickness.  They have a block of waste wood glued to the bottom to allow you to mount them on a lathe; this block can be removed if you prefer. Generally we have marked the year when the bowl blank has been roughed out on the bottom of the waste block.

Cocobolo rosewood (Dalbergia retusa) is widely recognized as one of the most beautiful woods in the world.  It is very dense, fine grained wood with bright red, cream, black, brown and sometimes purple tones.  It will take a very high polish.

Lignum vitae (Guaiacum sanctum or Guaiacum officinale) is one of the hardest woods commercially used.  It has beautiful jade green, cream and black colors and takes a very high polish.

Please note: while we include the shipping price for all of our other finished products, we do not include free shipping for the bowl blanks because they are heavy.

Every bowl blank is unique.  We can of course send you a photograph of your bowl blank before shipping.
